SALEM, Ore. — A man was rescued from a frightening grain entrapment situation after he fell into a silo on Tuesday, Marion County Fire District No. 1 reports.
Crews received reports of a man stuck in a silo and buried up to his chest in grain around 1:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, responders found a middle-aged male patient conscious and alert in the silo, but unable to free himself from the grain.
Rescue 4 and Ladder 4 from Salem Fire Department were called in to help in the confined space and possible rope rescue, and after 3 hours of «slow and deliberate maneuvers» they were able to safely rescue the man from the grain.
The man was then taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
